Joyce Oliver has been with Waseca County since 1985 and was first elected to the position of County Treasurer in 1998. On February 1, 2010, Joyce was appointed Waseca County Auditor-Treasurer, following the retirement of the Auditor. Elections for this office are held every 4 years.
The Auditor-Treasurer's office is responsible for the calculation, mailing, collection and distribution of all real estate, personal property & mobile home taxes. The Auditor-Treasurer is also responsible for investment of all surplus funds, designation of depositories, serves as the custodian of all county funds and cash assets and handles all funds received and/or disbursed by the county.
The Auditor-Treasurer serves as the Election Administrator for 22 precincts.
Other functions include collection of Deed, Mortgage Registration and Ag Conservation taxes, escrow of tax payments, Revenue Recapture for delinquent mobile homes, timely payments of all state/federal taxes, including payroll, sales & fuel taxes, reconciling bank accounts and maintaining ditch records.
